12th January 2013 – report from Alan Walkington – Had quite a good day despite the cold chill! Managed to open the hide door this time, extra Weetabix did the trick. Not the best of timing as the tide was out, but still quite a bit to see. The usual Little Egret making quite a few showings, timid bird, too far away to get a photo. A Short Eared Owl floating about near the hide, a lot of Redshanks in winter plumage, large flocks of Golden Plover, Ringed Plover, Lapwings, Knot, smaller flocks of Curlew, Oystercatcher. The going was better this time on the banks, less muddy.
