Monday 30th September –14 gannets east, common scoter and great skua east, marsh harrier and hobby, spotted redshank, greenshank, willow warbler and goosander. Butterflies included at least 7 comma, 2 painted lady, speckled wood and a small copper.

Saturday 28th SeptemberBuzzard, sparrowhawk, 10 gannet, 4 ruff, green sandpiper, greenshank, 4 pintail, brent goose, siskin, swallow, spotted redshank, 40 red-legged partridge, bar-tailed godwit. Comma, red admiral, speckled wood, migrant hawker, common darter.

Monday 23rd SeptemberRuff, 2 curlew sandpiper, 4 knot, greenshank, siskin, 10 little egret, 5 pintail, 3 gadwall, reed warbler. Grey seal, 2 clouded yellow.

Sunday 22nd September – 5 little egret, 160 pink-footed goose

Saturday 21st September – light southerly winds and warm – 100+ pinkfooted goose, 2 brent goose, 50+ greylag. 9 snipe, kingfisher, pintail. Good numbers of swallows, 3 housemartin, 1 sand martin. Grey plover, ringed plover, 1 med gull, bar-tailed & black-tailed godwit, 50+ wigeon all from lighthouses area and on river.

Monday 16th September – 2 little stint, 1 curlew sandpiper, 1 knot, 18 grey plover, marsh harrier, 4 little egret and a kingfisher. (R Lyon)

Saturday 14th September – marsh harrier flew east over the strays. , 3 little egret. Birds seen around Fort Paull area include:  1 ♀ & 2 ♂ blackcap, little owl, chiffchaff, lesser whitethroat, 3 whitethroat, magpie, blackbird, tree sparrow, good numbers of swallows and house martin and a 1 sand martin. From lighthouse area: knot,black-tailed godwit, 2 bar-tailed godwit, turnstone, ringed plover, common sandpiper. A harbour porpoise seen close inshore from white lighthouse areaButterflies seen: green veined white, red admiral, speckled wood, tortoiseshell and a migrant hawker.

Tuesday 10th September – At least 600 black-tailed godwit flew west along the river, good numbers of swallows, with some house martin and a couple of sand martin, 3 little egret, 150 teal, 17 wigeon, a guillemot west along the river and a single wheatear.

Saturday 7th September – wheatear, wigeon , green sandpiper, black-tailed godwit, 4 little egret, 3 greenshank, 2 common buzzard, kingfisher, swallow, sandmartin, housemartin, 150+ greylag, common tern, sandwich tern.

Thursday 5th Septemberwheatear, 5 wigeon and green sandpiper from lighthouse area, Roy L reported: 20 blacktailed godwit, 30 wigeon, 2 knot, 5 curlew sandpiper, 2 little stint, 6 little egret, 4 avocet, greenshank, 2 common buzzard.

Wednesday 4th September – from Roy L & Paul – 3 wigeon, 3 pintail, 300 teal, 450 mallard, hobby, 4 little egret, 4 avocet, 1 curlew sandpiper, 160+ greylag, 2 snipe.

Sunday 1st SeptemberShoveller, 600 ringed plover, 400 dunlin, 550 mallard, curlew sandpiper, peregrine, merlin and 150 golden plover. (Thanks to Roy L)
