December 2013

24th December 2013 – The year of the pipits came to a quiet end due to the constant SW winds. 2013 was our highest ever species total with 136 and highlights included: Richards Pipit, Tawny Pipit and Water Rail. For our full 2013 list please see species list tab

21st December 2013 – a single rook took us to the highest ever count for a year – 4 in total!

14th December 2013 – a couple of days after the highest tide for over 30 years! Have to wonder where all the water would have gone before the strays were created.

7th December 2013 – peregrine hunting over river & strays

1st December 2013 – 7 snipe, little egret, rook, distant marsh harrier and 2 roe deer.
