Friday 28th August – from Simon1 redstart, 2 pied flycatcher, 3 spotted flycatcher, little owl, 3 whinchat, hobby, lesser whitethroat, 2 reed warbler, 5 willow warbler, 4 blackcap, 3 sparrowhawk, song thrush

Thursday 27th August – from Simon8 pied flycatcher, 2 redstart, 1 treecreeper, 16 willow warbler, 7 blackcap, 2 Mediterranean gull, 1 whimbrel

Monday 24th August (With Simon) At least 5 porpoise and 3 common seal feeding off lighthouse area, 20 common scoter, an immature gannet on the mud, single artic skua west along river, good numbers of yellow wagtails and meadow pipits, 1 lesser whitethroat, 2 greenshank and still a few swifts and reed warblers.

At the end of the strays Simon spotted a distant BLACK STORK at 11.30am which drifted East and appeared to be landing. Nearly 2 hours later we found the bird close to a track along Stoney Creek. Unfortunately the bird was disturbed by a cyclist, only allowing quick photographs to be taken (below). The bird then drifted slowly East heading towards the Spurn area.

Sunday 23rd August – Brown hawker on pond again, 4 small red-eyed damselfly.

Saturday 22nd August – Common terns East along river, siskin overhead, several willow warbler, 2 reed warbler, on car park pond brown hawker.

Friday 21st August – 2 lesser whitethroat, black tern over strays and along river, common tern East, hobby hunting over strays, 8 little egret, greenshank, wheatear.

Saturday 15th August – 2 sandwich tern, 2 little egret, 12 teal, whitethroat, 2 blackcap, garden warbler fort Paull, painted lady. from Simon – 3 wood sandpiper near hide then south, 4 green sandpiper, 1 common sandpiper, 3 greenshank, 2 snipe, 6 sanderling, 3 whimbrel, 1 wigeon, 2 sparrowhawk, 4 ruff

Monday 10 Augusttrip report from Graham Phillips – On 10th Aug 2015 I walked round the site from the car-park to the breach just at high tide. Was pretty quiet – highlights c400 golden plover, c15o ringed plover, c180 dunlin, 55+ curlew, 90 bhg, 3 grey heron, 1 little egret, 3 reed warblers giving short bursts, 11 meadow pipits, 2 stock dove. On the water at the breach itself was a juvenile shelduck and a juvenile goldeneye both quite close to the bank. Butterflies included; peacock 11, small tortoiseshell 3, common blue 3, gatekeeper 8, painted lady 1, ringlet 1, green-veined white 6. I also followed the footpath inland along Thorn Drain for a half mile. Here there were another 7 reed warblers (mainly juvs), 4 tree sparrow, c160 linnet, 2 reed bunting, 1 skylark, 90 wood pigeon.

Sunday 9th August – 4 little egret, 2 terrapin in pond, a mixed flock of blue and long tailed tits with a single willow warbler.

Monday 3rd August – 130 redshank, ruff, avocet.

Sunday 2nd August – 2 greenshank, 5 avocet, adult med gull, ruff, 4 common tern east, 2 ruddy darter near pond. from Simonkingfisher at car park pond, 2 barn owl, peregrine, 1 common scoter, 5 whimbrel, 9 turnstone, 100 black-tailed godwit, 4 bar-taled godwit, 3 lapwing, 2 ruff, 54 grey plover

Saturday 1st Augustfrom Paul – A flock of 19 cormorant over the Strays, 5 avocet, ruff, common sandpiper, greenshank, little ringed plover, 3 common buzzard, 15 common tern, 30 common scoter west, 2 small red eyed damselfly on pond. – update from Simon – red-throated diver, 9 black-tailed godwit, 2 bar-tailed godwit, whimbrel, 2000 golden plover, 6 grey plover, 8 avocet, 9 little egret.
